WHERE DOES REIKI ENERGY COME FROM?
Reiki energy comes from a universal life force that exists all around us. This energy flows through and around every living being and is the essence that sustains life. During a Reiki session, the practitioner channels this universal life energy to the client through their hands, helping to promote healing and balance. This energy is drawn from a higher power that surrounds and connects all living things, the practitioner is simply a vessel to help channel the energy.
IS DISTANCE REIKI LESS EFFECTIVE THAN IN-PERSON?
Distance Reiki is equally effective as in-person sessions because Reiki energy transcends physical barriers, allowing practitioners to channel healing energy to their clients anywhere in the world with the same positive impact.
CAN YOU HAVE REIKI IF YOU ARE PREGNANT?
Yes, Reiki is considered safe and beneficial for pregnant women. This gentle energy healing technique can help alleviate common pregnancy-related discomforts such as stress, anxiety, nausea, and fatigue. Reiki also promotes relaxation and overall well-being, which can be very supportive during pregnancy. However, it's always best to consult your GP before starting any new practice during pregnancy.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY REIKI SESSION?
For your Reiki session, it is best to wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to relax fully. Therefore, avoid wearing tight or restrictive garments, and opt for natural fabrics like cotton. Additionally, it's a good idea to remove any jewellery or accessories that might interfere with your comfort or the energy flow. The key is to feel relaxed and at ease so you can fully benefit from the healing experience!
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE REIKI TREATMENTS?
The frequency of Reiki treatments varies depending on your individual needs and wellness goals. For general maintenance and stress relief, most people find that a session every 2-4 weeks works well. If you are dealing with specific issues, such as chronic pain, emotional distress, or recovery from illness, more frequent sessions—such as weekly or bi-weekly—may be beneficial initially. Although over time, as your energy balances and your condition improves, you can always reduce the frequency of sessions. HOW LONG ARE REIKI TREATMENTS TYPICALLY?
I provide treatments between 45 minutes - 1.5 hours, so its dependent on the option you have chosen. However, please note that we will spend approx. 10 minutes either side of the session to allow time for questions before and a reflection after the session, so please allow an additional 20 minutes onto the booking time!
DOES REIKI HAVE ANY INVOLVEMENT WITH RELIGION?
Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that is not affiliated with any religion. It is based on the principle of ‘universal life energy’ and can be practiced by individuals of any faith or belief system. Reiki complements any religious or spiritual practice by promoting healing and well-being.
I’M QUITE SKEPTICAL. WHY SHOULD I TRY REIKI?
This was me before my first session and now i’ve become a Reiki Therapist! So I completely understand that it’s natural to feel skeptical or reserved about new practices. However, many people who try Reiki experience profound benefits. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive practice that can also complement traditional medical treatments and other wellness practices. Even if you’re unsure, as long as you have an open mind and willingness to try, a session can often provide great personal insights and experiences.
